Because Everyone Loves Robots... and Pleather

If you asked me to describe my perfect laptop bag in three words it would be: pleather, green, robot. Ok, maybe I'm lying, but for those of you that would be interested in carrying your notebook in a very retro, plastic-y looking bag, take a look at the Robot Laptop Bag from Rare Device.

Also available in white, for a mere $98. Eh. I think it's tacky. But that's just me!

Even Flat Irons Need to be Mobile

There isn't much you can't get in cordless form nowadays, so it only makes sense that your straightening iron be mobile as well. This cordless flat iron from Hammacher Schlemmer is 1 1/2", ceramic, has 30 heat settings and takes a mere 90 seconds to heat up. Sounds pretty standard, and the price isn't too bad either - $69.99.

Great product, although I wouldn't trade in my pink CHI flat iron for this one. Pink always wins. Always. But mobile? It's a close second.

Target is donating a portion of the proceeds to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, as well, so unless you dislike pink (get out), supporting breast cancer research, or aren't into getting a sweet deal, then you've got no reason to sit on this opportunity.

Samsung & Armani Present: Sexy, Stylish, Sleek ... and Safe?

Are you the type of person who cares more about brand name than functionality? Me too. Kidding! Well, now that Armani is joining the ranks of other uber-designers releasing cell phones (Prada, for example) there is yet another sophisticated smartphone to pine after.

armaniphone.jpg

Only this one is special! This touch screen phone features a special rape alarm. It's too bad we have to even think about things like that, but it's great to have the option out there. Here's how it works: you, the user, program 5 of your closests contacts in a special emergency contact list. When in need of assistance, simply press the volume key four times and the phone will automatically send alert texts to those 5 special contacts, who can in turn, try to contact you, or if need be, the police. It also activates a built-in GPS tracking system that locates your exact whereabouts.

OK, it's a smart idea, but if that were my phone, I have a feeling I'd be accidentally pressing the volume key quite a bit. Say you're in a crowded place, for example, or you have too much crap in your purse. No harm really, except that those 5 people will get an unnecessary text. Better safe than sorry!
.
P.S. Here are the specs, in case you're interested: Tri-band 900/1800/1900 GSM, 3 megapixel camera, 2.6-inch 262K color QVGA touchscreen LCD, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, microSD expansion, full Internet browser, and support for H.263, AAC/MP3/WMA audio and MPEG-4 video.

World's Lightest Camcorder - Sanyo's Xacti DMX-HD700

Well, they aren't as bright & colorful as the waterproof version of the Xacti that was released earlier this year, but they are still pretty fancy looking. The newest addition to the family is the DMX-HD700 digital camera/camcorder. Featuring a 2.7" widescreen LCD and 5x HD zoom lens, Sanyo's brand new beauties record HD digital video and take 7mpx digital still images. It's compatible with SD/SDHC memory cards, HDMI high-def output, and also has in-camera editing and is compatible with iMovie '08.

AND it's the world's smallest and lightest 720p camcorder, which makes it perfect for travel footage. Boo-yeah! Available in brown, red, and silver, they retail for $600.

This Kettle Lights Up all Pretty When The Water is Hot

You know, I'm in the market for a new tea kettle since the whistle-r thing on mine just broke off. Now I have to GUESS when the water is boiling, since there is no fancy whistling coming out.

This electric kettle from Kenwood lights up in gorgeous colors to let you know when your water is hot. It gives you the option of only heating it to 80 degrees (vs full-on boiling the water), so you aren't putting your tongue at risk for being BURNT either. The temperature is maintained as long as it's on, so you don't waste energy reheating the water when you need a refill.

Unfortunately it's only available in the UK right now. Response Kettle! Bring your self to the US so I can purchase you.
