Looks Good, Smells Good

I'm telling you, this is a must for me.  My desk at work is a little female oasis amongst the male desert.  It might as well smell girly, too.  Debreu's 'Scent Drive' is a flash memory drive that produces fragrance while in use.  You can refill it with your favorite fragrance oil, and it's got a stylish metal alloy case.  Capacity varies from 128MB to 1GB, and is USB 2.0 friendly.  It even works with Vista.  This is pure genius.

They need to hurry up and release a shopping/make-up game on Wii.

Power Up with Sunshine

Nowadays you can't leave the house without your personal gadget collection, including cellphone, iPod, GPS, PDA, game player, digicam, etc, etc, need I go on?  Dealing with all the power supplies can get obnoxious, especially if you are on-the-go or gone for long periods of time.

Next time, take the Solio Solar Charger with you.  B000hhod5416_sclzzzzzzz_ss384_ After absorbing 8-10 hours of direct sunlight (cut that time in half by plugging it into a power source), it has enough energy to charge all your necessary devices.  It stores the sun's power in the internal fully integrated Lithiom-Ion battery, so all you have to do is attach a cable, push a button, and get instant energy.   It holds enough juice to fully charge your cell phone at least once or an iPod twice.  And don't worry about it losing the "sun power" - it stores leftover energy for up to a year.

B000hhod5416pt01_sclzzzzzzz_ss384__2 It's got a pretty sweet design, just spread out the blades to get maximum exposure to the sun (it even comes with suction cups so you can stick it to the window of your home or car).  Also included are the Solio battery charger, Nokia tip, Motorola tip, Samsung tip, mini-USB tip, interchangeable tip system cable, USB cable, 12-volt universal adapter, global travel charger with adapters and users manual.

Cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and of course, it's pink.

Diamond Data Protection for the Uber Wealthy

How many times have you thought to yourself, "If only there was a way to safely store my data - and spend an obscene amount of money at the same time." Today, TechDarling has an answer for you!

Mii Stor's wide range of flashy USB drives come in stainless steel, silver, 18ct white gold, platinum, and of course, diamonds.  Diamonds?  On your USB drive?  So the drive is protecting your 4GB of data, what is protecting the drive?

Miistor1Miistor2 Let's be honest, this sparkling beauty is beyond delightful.   But if I really wanted to safeguard my data, I'd make it the least desirable as possible.  Or at least, not something that can be pawned for cash.

But let's pretend for a minute that we are extremely rich - what a luxury it is, carrying our documents & pictures in a blanket of diamonds, dahhhling.   It seems you can also inscribe text on the drives, for example, a company logo, or maybe something like "Let's bathe in cash."

AccessorWiis - In Color?

According to Go Nintendo, a retailer list they've seen shows Nintendo Wii accessories will be available in more colors than the original white.  The colors listed were Silver, Blue, and Pearl Pink.  (YES!!!!)

This is not official news from Nintendo, but the accessories are scheduled to ship in Europe on June 29.

Let's hope they're coming to the U.S. soon, I'm ready to play tennis with a pink "racquet."

The Sega Dream Chick.... No, it's Not a Girl

Where was my Sega Dream Chick on Easter?  Tell me you haven't secretly wished you had a baby chick to cuddle and pet and canoodle via "coochie-choochie-coo!"... They are just so darn cute!

Drmchick

Sega Toys channeled the adorable market with this little guy that actually flaps it's wings and makes peeping noises when you hold it close and pet it's lil head.  Awww!!  An interactive stuffed animal that doesn't do backflips and make obnoxious barking noises - perfect!  They're cheap too, at $12.90.

Metallic Red Ladybug Mouse - Cuter Than the Average Mouse

Why continue using a boring black or grey mouse when you could be using one fashioned after an adorable ladybug? This cutie patootie mouse by Brando is painted metallic red with big black dots just like the real life version (it might be a tiny bit larger, though).

Cat Walking On Your Keyboard? Try This...

Many of you might not have this problem, but I do, and it's a big one. First of all, I'm a huge advocate of kitty cats, and I have two at home. One of them simply must be with me at all times, including times when I'm on my computer. She really enjoys LAYING across the keyboard while I'm typing, or when I've walked away from the computer. Maybe it's the heat, or maybe it's because she knows it pisses me off, but - I can't tell you how many times I've come back to my laptop to see the screen magnified 5x because of some crazy key combination that she hit. Or how many gibberish instant messages she's sent to friends of mine that I haven't talked to in years. Try explaining that.

So this is a Kitty Keyboard Kover, and it's just a piece of (very strong) plastic to cover your keyboard - simple in theory but VERY handy... and cats love flat surfaces to lay on, so it makes everyone happy. It's sturdy, and will support weights of up to 16lbs - that's enough to hold my fat cat - and comes in different sizes.

1676_500x335.jpg 1683_500x300.jpg

Unfortunately this product won't work as well with my laptop, because if I'm not using it I can simply shut it, but for those of you with desktops experiencing similar trauma - I'd look into getting one of these. Bonus - it keeps kitty hair out of the keys!!

Geeky Yet Stylish Interior Design from Mixko - Atari Joystick Candle

I'm sure there are quite a few of us geeks out there that have a soft side as well, even you hardcore old-school gamers that are familiar with Atari.

Get romantic yet stay true to your geekdom with an Atari Joystick Candlestick from fabulous UK designer Mixko.

mixkod4.jpg

Although it was initially the joystick candle that drew me in, I found these charming little stools available on their site as well... too bad their site is ridiculously hard to navigate and you can't bookmark it. Oh well, good luck! They do have some retailers in the US.

White Lake Gold & Diamond Encrusted USB Drive

Just when you thought you had everything you needed, along comes something so pretty, so unnecessary, it just screams to be held. It's a gold USB drive encrusted with 5 diamonds, and though simple, it is certainly beautiful! It comes in either 14k or 18k gold and is available with or without diamonds (but who in their right mind would pass on diamonds?)

betterwork.jpg

No mention of storage capacity, but if you're interested in having one to call your own, be prepared to shell out $3500 ($2800 without diamonds!)

Thanks to Kari for writing in about this gorgeous piece of equipment.

USB Mini Fridge - Just Big Enough for a Can of Soda

Quite a few of the techie nerdo guys I work with are obsessed with their soda. Pair that with the fact that they're extremely busy doing whatever it is they're doing, rarely having time to step away from behind the screen, and you've got the perfect reason to invest in a handy dandy USB Mini Fridge! What a perfect device this mini fridge is... unless of course said tech nerd might begin to go on and on about how the USB device may interfere with their super important computeral duties.

ulife008900_01_l.jpg

Whatever - it's pretty stinking cute. It's tiny (just big enough for one can), red, and looks like a little refrigerator. No batteries required, it only uses 5V USB Power. Aaand, it's only $33.

Samsung's Super Skinny Pink Mouse

Samsung's "Ultra Slim Mouse 8.0" is one of the teeny tiniest, cutie-patootiest mice I've ever seen. It comes equipped with a scroll wheel and a retractable USB cord. Comfort wise, it doesn't look too ideal for everyday use, but it would be good for travel, because of it's compact-ness (it's only 8mm thick). It also comes in white, silver, and black, but I'm sure you all want pink. :)

Why Spend 25k on a New Car? Get a Diamond Studded Mouse

Are you one of those people that has to have the biggest and the best of everything? If you answered yes, then you need this mouse. It's made almost entirely out of 18k white-gold, and has 59 brilliant cut diamonds (totaling 2 carats) in the shape of a flower on the top of the mouse. Don't like flowers? No problem, Swiss manufacturer Pat will arrange the diamonds in a pattern of your choice (maybe a dollar sign?).

dsc00819.jpg

pat_says_now_diamond_flower_mouse_1.jpg

This optical mouse can be yours for the price of a new car: $25,030. The extra $30 must be for the hideous black track ball. I mean if you're going to sell a 25k mouse, at least make the track ball the same color scheme as the rest!

MSI GX700 17" Gaming Notebook is Pretty Enough for the Girls

MSI's new 17" gaming notebook, as seen at Computex 2007 in Taipei, appears to have had some ACTUAL feminine direction in the design process. It seems that nowadays the people designing the 'girl gadgets' just haven't got a clue what we like. This glorious notebook, the GX700, is pretty and delicate enough that even my Grandmother would like it, and trust me, she's not a gamer.

No word yet on where, when or how much dough this sweet baby will be.

For all you gaming girls, have a look at the specs: 1.3M embedded webcam, Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology, nVidia Geforce 8600M GT 512MB, Full DirectX 10 support, HDMI output, 4.1 Channel Speakers and optional Embedded TV Tuner.

Oooh and Ahhh over Sony's New VAIO CR Series

I have to give Sony props on their new line of laptops. The VAIO CR Series presents sleek and sexy laptops with a 14.1" widescreen LCD screen and are dressed to the nines in cute little outfits (meaning, they come in blue, pink, red and white).

But we're not all about looks here - this machine is beautiful on the inside, too - it comes preloaded with Vista Premium and Photoshop Elements. But why would it give you Photoshop for free? Why to edit the gorgeous pictures of yourself that you'll be snapping with the 1.3mpx camera built into the screen! (Could it be Sony's answer to the iSight?) Or, take advantage of that camera in other ways by burning videos of yourself with the DVD Burner. It's powered by Intel's Centrino Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz T7100 processor (Intel Santa Rosa).

sonyvaiocrpink.jpg

If they haven't sold you already, maybe you'll be interested in the fact that it comes with a matching slip cover and mouse. Awwwww. The CR Series will be available in mid-July and start at about $1,350.

Heart Shaped Mouse for the Lonely Clicker

Here we go - yet another cute mouse. What makes this particular one special is that it actually says "I Love You" when you click the scrollwheel - awwww, how sweet.

imgheartmouse_1.jpg

I suppose it's kind of cute, but the design of it looks like it is more than slightly uncomfortable. Unless your hands are really tiny. But how desperate are you? Buy the words your boyfriend won't say for $40 - by Dynamism!

P.S. Shouldn't they have saved this for Valentine's Day?

ZEROtherm's Butterfly Shaped CPU Heat Sink

I can't believe my eyes....... it's a modded heat sink shaped as.... a butterfly?! What is going on here??? Without a doubt, this is the geekiest thing I've seen girl-ified. It is probably going to make all you THG-enthusiast men reading this either really really happy (finally she's writing about something we care about), or really really mad (how dare she).

The ZEROtherm BTF95 is made of copper, shaped like a butterfly, and stings like a bee. (You will only get that joke if you are a girl, sorry) It supports current socket AMD or Intel processors and provides lots of surface for cooling. Oh and it's $45 from Zerotherm.

Western Digital Goes on a Diet: Super Slim External HDDs

These skinny new external drives from Western Digital are the hotness. They'd be even better if they came in prettier colors, but I'll take what I can get. The WD Passport Portables (WDXMSC2500) are plug n play drives that are suitable for both Mac & PC, have 250GB of storage, and only weigh a few ounces. No power supply needed, they are powered by the USB bus. Available in metallic red, vibrant green(aka slime green), glossy black and white, and all for $199. Or, go with the 120GB or 160GB version for less.

wdfpassport_portable_2b.jpgwdfpassport_portable_2c.jpg

250GB - that's 71,000 photos, 62,000 MP3s, or 100 hours of DVD quality video. That's a whole lotta stuff to carry around in such a tiny little thing.

Rotating USB Hub Is Practical and Colorful

This thing could come in handy if you are one of those people who have 18 USB-powered devices plugged in at once. Or, 4, because that's how many additional ports you are going to get from this. I'm more the type that has 20 extension cords plugged into one other, stretched across the room, since my ancient apartment has a total of 4 electric sockets. Safe, I know.

It's cute, sort of kiddy looking, but the key here is the first two ports that rotate 180 degrees so you can accommodate different cords/drives/devices. Aluminum case body, Plug & play, and extremely light.

It's a total bargain at $16 from USB Brando.

USB Christmas Tree is a Shoddy Replacement for Workaholics

Now that Halloween has come and gone in the blink of an eye, it's time to start thinking about Christmas. What! Already?! Fall is going by FAR too quickly for my liking. I haven't had nearly enough time to actually get out and enjoy it.

Environmentally Friendly Cardboard Speakers

My post on Recycled Circuit Boards & CDs Turned Ornaments caused such a stir in the comments, I couldn't resist posting about these Cardboard Speakers, and reading your feedback.

The environmentally-friendly factor makes up for the uglyness of these speakers, since they are made out of 100% recycled materials. These battery-free speakers fold flat for easy storage and portability. I feel I can safely assume that the sound quality isn't going to be the best out there, but surely they get the job done. It'd be interested to see just how well they work, or how long they last.

HOT Pink Desktop Suitable for Barbie

Get it while it's hot.......... hot pink that is! Ok, that was bad.

Not that I don't simply adore gadgets & gizmos decked out in pink, but this is just the tiniest bit tacky. And by tiniest bit I mean I would laugh at anyone who actually owns this, aside from the expected female 16 & under crowd.
